Rocky Point Aquaculture is built on land that has been farmed with care and vision for over 150 years. Once sugarcane country settled by German immigrants, this land evolved into one of Queensland’s early aquaculture pioneers, starting as a family-run prawn farm committed to producing premium seafood.
When industry conditions changed, we didn’t step back — we stepped forward. Drawing on generations of farming knowledge and a deep respect for the environment, we reimagined our operations, transforming Rocky Point into one of Australia's most sustainable and innovative fish farms. Today, we raise Queensland Giant Grouper, Cobia, and Blue Speckled Grouper, premium species nurtured with intention, and grown for those who create with passion.

Sustainability isn’t a checkbox for us, it’s the foundation of everything we do. From how we care for our water, to what we feed our fish, to the energy that powers our farm, every detail is designed to grow healthy, high-quality fish in harmony with the environment.
A Self-Contained Ecosystem
We clean our water the natural way.
Our recirculating aquaculture system means we don’t return water to the ocean, we look after it ourselves. To maintain purity and balance, we use natural biofilters like oysters and regenerating mangroves. These organisms work symbiotically with our fish, purifying the water and contributing to a thriving mini-ecosystem right on site.
Ocean-Friendly Breeding
No wild-caught shortcuts. Ever.
We breed all our own broodstock in-house, reducing pressure on depleted ocean populations. This closed breeding loop allows us to safeguard biodiversity while ensuring full control and traceability, from hatch to harvest.
Sustainable Nutrition
Custom feed, responsibly sourced.
Our Tasmanian feed partner formulates species-specific diets using ingredients from independently audited, sustainable sources. These precision-made feeds support optimal fish health and deliver the exceptional flavour and texture chefs expect from a premium product.

With a solar pilot program already in place and engineering solutions on the horizon, we’re working to reduce our energy footprint while scaling sustainably. This future-first mindset helps ensure every fish we grow is as ethical as it is exquisite.
Daily Care & Wellness
We dive in — literally.
Our commitment to animal welfare is hands-on. Staff dive daily to observe and assess the fish in their environment, and a specialist aquatic vet conducts monthly checkups. That attention to detail results in healthier fish and a superior experience on the plate.
